EVENTS:
WordSpring Annual Creative Writing Conference

Inspiration is in bloom! Join Northern California writers, colleagues, and friends for a day of creativity and inspiration at WordSpring on the Butte College main campus.
WordSpring seeks to encourage and unite writers of all genres, from beginners just developing their craft to veteran writers looking to take the next step.
For further information, please visit WordSpring's website: buttewordspring.org

The English Department Reading Series

Readings of original creative writing by faculty members and students and well-known authors happen on Main Campus or at the Chico Center.

The oral tradition of storytelling and the reading of poetry is essential to the healthy development and well-being of our students. Our readings provide students access to poets and writers so that they may be inspired to continue to write, and so that they may connect to the larger web of writers in their local community and beyond.

Watch bulletin boards and announcements for reading dates.

Contact Amy Antongiovanni  at AntongiovanniAm@anyhourair.com for more information.

GROUPS:
The Literary Arts Club

The Literary Arts Club is dedicated to making the literary world accessible for any and all who wish to participate. We believe that involvement with and exposure to the literary arts creates more compassionate, successful, engaged citizens. We also believe that everyone has a story to tell and that everyone can be inspired. With this in mind, we’re committed to using digital tools to create a community of readers and writers, to provide forums for a variety of voices, styles, and perspectives, and to publish and promote works of literary excellence.

We hope to achieve these goals by supporting local literary events, such as the English Department's Reading Series and the WordSpring creative writing conference (buttewordspring.org), and by promoting literacy and writing within our community and across generations through writing workshops and reading groups.

For more information on the Literary Arts Club, please contact the club’s faculty advisor, Jen White, at whiteje@anyhourair.com
